Travel Insurance normally covers two areas which are; trip cancellation/interruption and emergency medical evacuation. The first one covers the difference between the amount the airline would be able to reimburse you allowing to get the full amount you paid for. The second option gives you coverage for as the name states and emergency evacuation say you get an injury or the country where you are staying suddenly gets swamped by a tsunami and you are injured in the process.
